Wilma “Willi” Jo McBride, a long-time resident of Salida departed on January 17, 2022 at Columbine Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Wilma Bonney. She is survived by her son, Jason McBride, his wife Melissa, and their three children, Preston, Jaclyn, and Bruce, all of Castle Rock, CO as well as her brother Ralph Bonney of Thornton, CO, and her sister Linda Brazil of Salida, CO.
Willi had been described as a “Holy Terror” in high school, causing her teachers to fear her younger siblings and advise them not to behave in the same fashion as their big sister.
Early in her career, Willi enjoyed working in Las Vegas for casino magnate Steve Wynn. Later when back in Salida, she held positions at the local Ford Dealership and at the Bureau of Reclamation.
Willi enjoyed league bowling and is reported to have boasted a 230 average while in her prime.
She was also a lover of dogs, most recently her beloved “Sharkey”, and she donated regularly to the ASPCA.
Willi generously donated her body to science, and services will be held at the time her remains are returned after the donation is complete. On line condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com. Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
