William J Campbell

William J. Campbell, age 75 of Salida, passed away on Thursday March 12, 2026 at his home in Salida. Mr. Campbell was born June 7, 1950 in Gunnison, Colorado to Alex and Martha (Carsten) Campbell. Mr. Campbell delivered freight for 12 and worked at WalMart in Salida as a stocker for over 15 years. He enjoyed collecting coins, shooting trap, bowling, driving, doing yard work and fixing up old furniture. He served his country in the United States Navy serving during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the American Legion serving as the Sergeant At Arms. He was also a life member of Salida Elks Lodge #808. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents , brother Rocky Campbell, cousin Kevin Nelson and uncle Charles Carsten. He is survived by his Aunt May Carsten of Del Rio, Tx cousins Becky Nelson of Salida, Starr Mumma of Salida, Billie Nelson of Salida, CO, Timothy Starr Nelson of Salida, CO, Sylvia Moreschini of Santa Fe, NM, Vicky Rowland of Gunnison, CO, Willa Blake and Freddy Campbell-Paylor of Oklahoma. A Memorial Service is set for Thursday April 16, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Gunnison Cemetery, April 17th @ 11a.m.. Friends who desire may make memorial contributions to either the Salida Elks Lodge or the American Legion through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
