Virgil Olin Obituary

Virgil Neil Olin, 84, went to his heavenly home February 14th, 2024. He was born October 29, 1939 at home in Golden, Colorado. He lived his childhood in Lakewood, Colorado where he graduated from Lakewood High School in 1958. After graduation, the minister at his church, Mr. Tree, gave him his first job at Tree Electric Company. In 1958, Virgil met his forever wife, Bleca Sue Bright of Evergreen, Colorado. They met at a 1950s sock hop dance and after meeting, Virgil drove to Evergreen 4 nights a week to continue to see her. On their first date, Virgil took Sue to Crown Hill Cemetery to catch nightcrawlers so that he could take her fishing after church. He enjoyed fishing and passed that love along to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virgil and Sue were married March 26, 1960 in Lakewood, Colorado and shared 63 years of incredible love. He called Sue ‘Cupcake’ and he was Sue’s ‘Twinkie.’ Together they raised 3 daughters in the Denver metro area where Virgil worked as a Warehouse Foreman for Jefferson County Schools for over 30 years. He retired in 1996. Virgil and his wife lived in Indian Hills, Colorado for 12 years, did foster care for 15 years, and then moved to Nathrop, Colorado. In retirement, Virgil and Sue found joy traveling to Yuma, Arizona each year, spending time in New Mexico at the casinos along the way. They would also travel to Mexico together. As Virgil got older, he enjoyed the simple things - spending time with his family and watching old westerns and football. He will be remembered by his family for his dedication and love to those around him. He had the most sensitive heart and he was always more concerned that everyone he loved was ok than if he was ok. He will be forever missed by those that knew him. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bleca Sue Olin, his 3 daughters Carla, Sharla, and Shari, Shari’s husband Robert, 9 grandchildren, granddaughter-in-law Ericka, 11 great-grandchildren & his grand-dogger ~ “Dog”.
