Susan K Marquardt

Susan K. Marquardt, of Salida, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023. Raised in suburban Chicago, she graduated from Westmont High School. She completed her BS in Adult Learning at Northeastern Illinois University. She had a long career in retail management before establishing PotteryMarq (a priviate pottery studio) and Beast Mode Silkworms which she operated until 2022, the later developed as an offshoot for her passion for reptiles. From co-workers and customers to those with the same affinity for her passions, Susan touched hundreds of lives directly and thousands virtually. Her infectious smile and positive nature will be missed by all who knew her. She married her husband Hank in 2015 and was proud to be called mom by Adrianna (Nahian) Imtiaz and Danielle Marquardt. She leaves behind Hoo, her 13 year old Siamese rescue feline. There will be no public service and cremation will be private.
