Shane Joseph Valdez passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 4, 2022 at his home in Ft. Collins, CO. Shane was born June 11, 1980 in Salida, CO to parents Billie Jean and Ralph Valdez. Shane graduated from Salida High School in 1998, where he was a member of the Salida Spartan Football team that made it to the playoffs that year. He married Megan Masterson in the year
2000, who he had three beautiful children with, McKensie, Caleb and Lillian. Shane was the Front Ranges favorite UPS driver over 20 years.
If you knew Shane, you knew that his children were the loves of his life. He had no shame in
showing how much he loved his family and friends. Shane had a huge heart, big smile and
loved unconditionally. Whenever he called his mother which was nearly daily, he always
ended the call with “Love you Bubbles”.
Shane loved to be outdoors camping and fi shing. Shane recently visited Costa Rica with
his significant other Stephanie McCormick. One of Shane’s greatest joys was coming back
to Salida to fish with his dad. Shane was a vast sports fan, especially loving the Alabama
Crimson Tide and New York Yankees.
Survivors include his parents, Billie Jean and Ralph Valdez of Salida, daughter
McKensie Valdez of Greeley, CO, son Caleb Valdez of Tempe, AZ, and Lillian Valdez
of Kyle, TX. Sisters Jennifer (Chad) Arnett of Salida and Rochelle (John) Tracy of
Arvada. Nieces Brianna Arnett, Teagan Tracy and Nephew Kaden Tracy, as well as
