Samuel Davis Obituary

Samuel Josiah Davis was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania to George and Shelby Davis on January 10, 1991 and went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 4th, 2025 in Buena Vista, Colorado. Sam grew up in the Baptist church where his father pastored and Sam had a strong faith and loved to share and discuss God’s word. Sammy loved his family and friends more than anything and having them all close by. After meeting Audrey and living in Denver for several years, they moved back to where he grew up in Buena Vista and closer to his family. Sam and Audrey married in October of 2020 and then he built them a home of their own on their dream property with the help of family and friends. He loved everything outdoors and had constant stories of hunting, hiking, fishing, dirt biking, or just going to swim in the Arkansas River. He was always able to make everyone laugh and had a smile that was contagious. Sam had a natural gift for development and construction and loved seeing his projects go from start to finish. Whether it was a residential build, a commercial build, or just a project he wanted to help with or get done, he was always up for the challenge. As a project manager, eventually becoming a General Contractor and starting his own business, he was always working on something, and truly enjoyed helping others make their dream build into a reality. Sam is survived by his wife Audrey Paige Davis (Ceschin), maternal grandparents- Bill and Ruth Rebert, his parents George Davis Sr and Shelby Davis, his siblings Crystal (Eric), George Jr (Lindsey), Wesley (Ashley), Kimberly (Robert), Jedidiah, Kylee, his many nieces and nephews Jadon, Liem, Rougen, Isabella, Scarlett, Jacksen, Lily and Landon, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by paternal grandmother Ruby Davis and his brother in law, Matthew Bucholz. There will be a private family burial on November 21st at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Buena Vista. A memorial service will be held on November 22nd at 2:30pm at Darren Patterson Christian Academy, with a potluck reception to immediately follow. Please bring your favorite dish or something you know Sammy loved to eat. All who knew and loved him are welcome! In lieu of flowers, please donate to a missionary doing the Lord’s work, as this was something strong in Samuel’s heart and cared about deeply. Genesis 35:3 And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el, and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. Psalms 37: 23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
