Phyllis Ann Mitchell Goldmuntz, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Skyline Ridge Memory Care Facility after a 13-year diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born November 18, 1944, in Hopewell, VA to Bill and Jennie (Mizera) Mitchell. She was a 1962 graduate of Hopewell High School and a 1965 graduate of Maryview Hospital School of Nursing in Portsmouth, VA. She married Barry M. Goldmuntz on April 4, 1970, in Denver, CO. Her nursing career included cardiac care unit head night nurse at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA, nurse in acute dialysis unit at CU Medical Center in Denver and as an educator teaching Therapeutic Touch (Healing Touch) in Colorado Springs. She continued practicing healing modalities her entire life. Phyllis and Barry lived 30 years in Manitou Springs, Co where they raised their 2 children. They spent the last 20 years in Salida, Co. A life-long learner, Phyllis’ passions included gardening, weaving, cooking, volunteering, reading, knitting and travelling. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had an ability to touch all she befriended with her sweet and kind nature including her dear friends, her loving family and all the animals she loved and cared for over the years. Phyllis is survived by Barry Goldmuntz (husband), Jessica Goldmuntz Stokes (daughter), Aaron Goldmuntz (son), Dava Szalda Goldmuntz (daughter-in-law), Abraham Stokes (grandson), Hannah Stokes (granddaughter), Isaac Goldmuntz (grandson), Avi Goldmuntz (grandson), Owen Goldmuntz (grandson), Mike Pritchard (nephew), Justin Pritchard (nephew). She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held in Manitou Springs, CO in July of 2022.
