Ferdinand Philip “Phil” Vieira , 84, Parker, Colorado passed away on June 17th, 2023, in Salida Colorado while in town for his Brother Norm Vieira’s Celebration of Life. He was born July 20, 1938, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was the oldest son of Jose “Joe” Vieira and Susana “Susie” Gomes Vieira. He grew up the son of a rancher and was raised by a large loving family with deep roots in Northern New Mexico but moved to Colorado after the death of his father. Phil always had a special place in his heart for “The Land of Enchantment”. Phil met the future “Love of his Life” - Carol Congrove while attending Wheat Ridge High School and they were married in 1961. They raised two children: Lance Marcus Vieira and Celia Vieira Lombardi. Phil was a master craftsman baker for most of his working life. Phil loved all things athletic. He excelled on the football field and played for legendary coach John McKay (USC) at Compton College in the late 1950’s. Family and Friends meant everything to Phil. He loved to make and share his ancestral cuisine like Green and Red Chile, Enchiladas, Tamales, Posole and so much more for those he loved. He enjoyed gardening, painting, and playing the guitar. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, sister Cynthia Brothers (Mike), son Lance (Darla), Daughter Celia, and grandchildren Marques, Colton, Kelsie, Jakob, and Alissa.
