Paula Snyder Obituary

November 18, 1954 - April 28, 2021 Paula Elizabeth Snyder, 66, of Salida, CO. passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family and God sent a beautiful rainbow outside her hospital window to welcome her home. Paula was born November 18, 1954 in San Diego, California to Paul and Marguerite Snyder. From the moment of her entry into the world it was very clear that Paula was a special, precious gift from God. When Paula was six her family moved from San Diego to Oklahoma City. After her parents passed away in 2013 she lived happily with her sister Charlotte. In October 2017 they moved to Salida where Paula lived at the Starpoint E St. Group Home and attended the Starpoint Day Program. She loved everyone there, all the staff and clients. They loved and cared for her tire-lessly. Her favorite pastime was shopping for books. She was well known at local thrift stores, Caring and Sharing, and the Salida Library where the staff (friends) helped her buy used books. Paula’s favorite things were talking on the phone, spaghetti, country music (especially Johnny Cash), Wheel of Fortune, chewing gum, Elvis, and most of all Jesus. She was witty, funny and always wanted to be “on the go”. She lived life to the fullest. . You just couldn’t help but fall in love with Paula—anyone who crossed her path would know that she simply had a way of pulling you into her orbit. She gave the most enthusiastic greetings; she had a sneaky and surprising sense of humor; she was curious and persistent and engaged. Paula loved many things and she loved the people in her life with a fullness that was humbling. It is no surprise that she gained an astonishing amount of devoted friends throughout her life. Her passing is a ripple felt by many and we will all dearly miss her infectious spirit. Paula’s memory radiates within us a legacy of unconditional love, patience and generosity. She will live on in those who loved her, until we are all reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven. “What time is it?” she would often ask. Time to rest, sweet girl, in the arms of the Lord. Paula is survived by her loving sisters, Charlotte Sliva, Salida, Colorado, Janet (Bill) Preuss, Luverne, Minnesota. Her nephews, Michael Hall, Salida, Colorado, Jeff (Angie) Hicks, Jennings, Louisiana. Niece, Kim (Brian) Arends, Luverne, Minnesota. Great niece Nikki (Anthony) Novak, Albuquerque, New Mexico and great nephews Cooper and Tyler Arends, Luverne, Minnesota, Her best friends, “Puppet”, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Amy, Salida, Colorado.
