Obituary
Melissa was born in Wheatridge Colorado on November 28, 1980 to Herbert Smith and Patricia Kay Sweeney, but had grown up mostly in the Chaffee County area. She was the youngest having two older siblings from her mother’s previous marriage.
Growing up Melissa enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and playing solitaire. She loved spending time with her friends and family, and often found herself the center of attention.
Melissa is survived by her mother, Patty Tucker of Salida Co, son Storm McBeth of Salida Co, and daughter Brooklyn Brock of Twin Falls Idaho. She is also survived by her brother Chuck Turner (Allison) of Denver Co, and sister Jennifer Smith of Salida Co, followed by three nieces and one nephew.
Melissa is preceded in death by her grandparents Earl Douglas (Whitey) and Billie Jean (Penny) Pearson.
Memorial Services for Melissa will be a small gathering and set for May 13, 2023 in the Chalk Cliff area where many happy memories were spent growing up.
