On Friday, June 28th, 2024, Mary Ruth Hein, age 33, continued on her eternal journey, surrounded by family in her home In Salida, Colorado. She was born September 21st, 1990 in La Plata, Maryland and had since graced many different cities across the world. She grew up in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, moved to Austin, Texas after college, traveled through Southeast Asia and New Zealand, and moved to Portland, Oregon. She found her community in Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica and recently settled in Salida, Colorado.
Mary accomplished many things in her life. She received a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Hospitality & Tourism Management at Virginia Tech. She became a certified Yoga Instructor in Austin, Texas and became a world traveler. She also became a certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Sound Healer.
Mary loved animals, nature, dancing, enjoying healthy and flavorful foods, and spending time with family and friends. Mary's hobbies included hiking, biking, yoga, cooking, gardening, traveling and jumping into bodies of water. Lake Arenal in Costa Rica was her favorite body of water to take a swim.
She is survived by her father, Milton Hein Ill; mother, Ruth (Mossman) Hein; sister, Krista Hein; brother, Milton Hein IV; grandmother, Margaret "Maunie" Hein and dear friend Gravin "Moya" Solera Mena. She is also survived by the many aunts, uncles and cousins of the Hein and Mossman families. Mary was preceded in death by her animals Mahia, Zanahoria and Kali that she loved deeply.
In lieu of flowers, take a moment to plan something that Mary would do: go outside, take a hike, be in nature, take a yoga class, swim in a lake, take that big adventure, but ultimately be present in your life.
Mary is now soaring in peace.
Pink Mountain Sunrise
Pink mountain sunrise illuminating the sky.
Sweet crisp mountain air whisking through the window.
Cool breeze brushing against the skin.
Quiet voices whispering of love.
Sounds of birds outside and tears running down faces.
One last breath and peace has arrived.
Looking out the window at the pink mountain sunrise.
