Marsha Elaine Brady

Marsha Brady passed away on December 9th, 2023. She was born in Salida, Colorado on December 12th, 1939, to Ned and Rose Lanari. She graduated from Salida High School and then went on to graduate from Greeley College with a degree in education and a teaching credential. She moved to California soon after college to follow in her mother’s footsteps and begin her lifelong career in the teaching profession, which was her passion. She taught special needs children, Junior High and High School children and eventually, adults at the College level. Her husband Larry was a graphic designer, artist, Calligrapher and type designer. His love of design and the Calligraphed letter soon became Marsha's new passion. She combined her love of teaching and Calligraphy and started the first Calligraphy class at the Junior High School level. From that point forward, she and Larry would pursue a lifetime of excellence in the field of Calligraphy and the letter arts, going on to become world renowned teachers and practitioners of the art. Marsha exuded a zeal for life and embodied class and style. She had panache and imbued every aspect of her life with grace and her unique flair! She was a devoted, loving wife and mother as well as being a steadfast, loyal and loving friend to many. Marsha is preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Rose Lanari and is survived by her son, Chris Brady, and granddaughters Karly Brady and Lauren Brady. A Memorial Mass at Salida's Saint Joseph Parish and celebration of her life has yet to be scheduled but will be forthcoming soon.
