Marcia Cryer (Kellner) Obituary

Marcia Elaine Cryer (Lellner) went to be with her Lord September 16, 2022. She was born March 9, 1944 to John and Margaret Kellner in Detroit, MI. She moved to Phoenix and married Jim Cryer, living there over 40 years while raising her family. She then moved to Canon City and then to Salida, CO. Marcia was known and loved by many for her kindness and generosity. A natural caregiver and advocate, she took care of her best friend for 16 years. She loved to dance; tap dancing in her teens and flamenco in her 40s. Winning the Detroit Metropolitan Spelling Bee in 1957, she went on to be a lifelong Scrabble champion with all who played with her. A true patriot and history buff, she enjoyed studying the founding fathers and Revolutionary War. Moving to a smaller town like Salida fulfilled her dreams of living in the country. She knew how to enjoy the simple things in life. Her pride and joy was in her family’s accomplishments. Her faith was steadfast and she loved to read the Psalms and pray for her loved ones. Marcia’s circle was small but very well-loved. She carried out her earthly assignment with love, devotion and perseverance. She is greatly missed. Marcia is survived by her brother Bob (Val) Kellner, children Dale, Don, Julie (Edward) Treat and Lisa (Scott) Simmons; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest with her husband Jim at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix. A graveside memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2023. Donations in her memory can be made to: Your local pregnancy center or Wallbuilders. On line condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com. Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
