Manuel Anthony Gardunio, 74 of Salida, passed away at his home on December 17th, 2018.
He was born on June 4, 1944 in Nambe, New Mexico.
He attended Salida Schools, and in 1965 married Wilma Rendon. The couple had three children together.
Manuel worked at Climax Mine for 32 years.
He loved fishing, going to the casino, and spending time with his family. Manuel was a master handy man and problem solver. There was nothing he could not fix, and he would often take on difficult projects to help his family and others. He was a loving, kind, and giving man who will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Wilma, daughter Melissa (Mike) of Denver, sons Phillip (Sandy) of Salida, Scott (Dot) of Canon City, grandsons Anthony, Justin, Hayden, and Jake, and granddaughters Amber and Bailee. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place in June, with more details to follow.
