In Loving Memory of Ernest Lorin Gardner
Sunrise: December 26, 1937– Sunset: June 9, 2025
High in the rugged mountains of Colorado, where the rivers run clear and the pines whisper ancient truths, our beloved Lorin took his final rest on June 9. A man of deep faith, wild soul, and quiet strength, he left this world with the same grace and dignity with which he lived.
A devoted man of God, Lorin found his church in the stillness of the woods, his prayers carried by the wind through canyons he called home. His spirituality wasn’t bound by walls—it was found in the flight of an eagle, the hush of snowfall, the rhythm of a casting line. He often said that the mountains spoke to him, and now we believe they carry his voice among them.
He was a protector and a soft place to land for the women in his life— his Mother, Sister and fiercely loving his late wife, Cynthia. Always simply listening with his wise, weather-worn eyes, his love was a shelter: steady and unshakable.
Lorin loved the land and lived in a beautiful and simple way. He fished mountain rivers with reverence, tended to animals with gentleness, and dreamed always of striking gold—not for riches, but for the thrill of hope and the echo of the old frontier. He carried the spirit of the miner in his heart—one who dug deep, sought light in darkness, and believed in the value of what’s buried just beneath the surface of life.
To know him was to know peace, grit, and humility. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, reverence for nature, and a deep love for family. His stories, his quiet chuckle, the way he paused before speaking as if consulting the mountain winds—these will stay with us always.
