Kyle Knickerbocker Obituary

In Loving Memory of Kyle Joshua Knickerbocker

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kyle Joshua Knickerbocker, a cherished soul who departed this world on January 12th, 2024, at the age of 29. Born on October 31st, 1994, to the loving embrace of Helen (Doyle) Betancourt and Jerry Eugene Knickerbocker, Kyle's journey touched the lives of many. He was a true Salida native. Kyle spent his entire life in this close-knit community, graduating from high school in 2014. His impact on the community was immeasurable. His warm spirit and infectious smile left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate to cross his path. He had an uncanny ability to connect with people, making each encounter a memorable experience.

His passion for Salida's rich history was evident in his profound knowledge of the town's buildings and their stories. Kyle's interest in electronics was equally remarkable; he had a knack for disassembling and reassembling various technologies, unraveling their mysteries with genuine curiosity. As a gifted artist, Kyle's creations were featured in the front pages of newspapers, showcasing his artistic talents. Some of his subject matter was, The Kesner Junior High Building, Saint Joseph's Catholic School, and The Titanic.

Kyle found solace and joy in the company of friends, especially his closest companion Dylan. Together, they relished moments at Riverside Park, immersing their feet in the river on scorching summer days. Kyle was always creating memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him.

Family held a special place in Kyle's heart. His love for them was extraordinary, demonstrated through nightly calls to his grandparents, checking in with his mother about dinner plans, and spending cherished moments in Moffat with his stepparents and his beloved sisters.

As we mourn the loss of a bright light extinguished too soon, let us celebrate the beautiful soul that Kyle was.

A celebration of life will be at the end of May 2024, at the Scout Hut in Riverside Park. Details to be announced at a later date.

Kyle is reunited with his grandfather Harry Knickerbocker (Salida) and Grandmother Dee Hendricks (New Mexico.)

He is survived by his mother, Helen (Doyle) Betancourt, Father Jerry Knickerbocker, grandparents Jeff and Peggy Doyle, brother Juan Doyle, sisters Jordyn Marie Betancourt, and Olivia Doyle (Salida.)
