John Franklin Poyser Jr

John Franklin Poyser Jr, age 88 of Salida, passed away on Sunday January 8, 2023 at his home in Salida. Mr. Poyser was born February 5, 1934 in Long Island, Kansas to John Franklin and Alta (Bear) Poyser. Mr. Poyser was a life time member of the Salida Elks Lodge #808, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He worked at Climax for 30 years and after his retirement he also worked at the Salida Golf Course and Monarch Ski Area. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His true passion was being a mechanic and welder. Mr. Poyser is survived by his wife Elaine Poyser of Salida, CO, son John F. Poyser III of Salida, CO and daughters Katrina (Mike) Rocha of Westminister, CO, Jenny (David) Carothers of Salida, CO and Audra Daffron of Salida, CO. Grandchildren Lisa (Jason) Baldwin, Rachael (Sam) Van Dyke, Sean Rocha, Marc Rocha, Shelby (Jesse) Hall, Kolby Carothers, Adrian (Monique) Poyser, Danny Daffron, Jay Daffron, great grandchildren Kylie and Katelyn Baldwin and Jace Daffron. God Mother Lois Martinez of Salida, CO. A Graveside Memorial service is set for 11:30 AM Friday January 20, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Salida.
