John A. Clark Jr., age 92, long time Salida resident, passed away on December 25, 2025 at Columbine Manor Care Center in Salida, CO. Mr. Clark was born January 30, 1933 in Pittsburg, Kansas to John A. Clark Sr. and Lora Belle Anderson. Mr. Clark married Joan Alway on July 10, 1952 in Salida, CO. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hunting and being in the outdoors. He and his wife where members of the Historical Prospectors for over 20 years and his family said he was a faithful Christian. His greatest joy was going to watch his grandchildren play sports and going to their band concerts. Early on in his career he worked for the Forest Service before beginning his career with the Colorado Department of Corrections retiring after 30+ years. After his retirement, he worked a short time for the Colorado Parks and Recreation. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Clark. He is survived by his wife Joan Clark of Salida, CO, sons Mark (Roxanne) Clark of Salida, John (Malissa) Clark III of Salida and daughter Catherine (Larry) Coleman of Canon City, CO. Grandchildren Tracey (Nicole) Coleman, Travis (Aimee) Coleman, Bryan (Tiffany) Coleman, Jamie (Josh) Clark-Miles, Keith (Rebecca) Clark, Kyle Clark and Kristin (Dakota) Lovato, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services are set for 1:00 PM Tuesday January 6, 2026 at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends who desire may make memorial contributions to either the Heart of The Rockies Regional Medical Center or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
