Jerry Dan Loudenburg, 86, died January 11, 2025 in Salida with his family at his side. He was born September 24, 1938 in Loveland Colorado to VH and Lola (Foster) Loudenburg. After graduating from Loveland High school he moved to Salida to help his parents build a home and get their Honey Bee Business started. While working as a Life Guard at the Salida Hot Springs Swimming Pool, he met the love of his life, Lea Mardell Donahoo. They married January 23, 1960 and raised 3 children. Jerry had many job experiences from Butala Construction, Chaffee County Building Inspector and ending with over 20 years with the Colorado State Corrections as a Vocational Woodwork Teacher. Jerry was very talented and creative. He spent hours in his garage creating and building things with his wood and metal tools. There was nothing he could not fix or design. He had many hobbies which included golf, pool, and hunting. He and his wife enjoyed traveling on the motorcycle and their motor home. Jerry was a member of the Salida Elks, Salida Golf Club and Sportsman Club out of Kremmling, Colorado. Proceeded in death, parents, wife of 62 years, Hally Loudenburg, brother of Arvada, Lorraine Bryan, sister of Idaho, Royce Lytle Donahoo, mother in law, Christopher Loudenburg, grandson. Survivors include sister, Sharon Loudenburg- Makris, Woodland Park, 3 children, Sondra Loudenburg, Salida. Shari Loudenburg, Little Rock, AR. Jerry Dale (Tami) Loudenburg, Salida. 5 Grandchildren, Resha (Lander) Efird, Dexter (Malory) Martin, Aaron (Kristen) Loudenburg, Amber (Zak) Talbert, and Kelea Childress. 9- Great Grandchildren Ethan and Eric Efird. Elii, Clay and Kamron Martin. Aiden and Claire Loudenburg. Haley and Austin Talbert. The family will have a Celebration of Life for both Jerry and Mardell in late Spring 2025. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association through Lewis and Glen Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com.
