Jeffrey Paul “Buck” Shacklett, my son, was my beautiful white light that came into this world just sixteen years ago. Born on March 3, 2007 at home at 136 Baby Doe Drive in Leadville CO, he carried and shared his serene, magnetic energy with everyone he came in contact with to his very last day. Heartbreakingly, he died along with his father, Jeffrey Connor Shacklett, aka “Mohan Ramprasad,” in a car accident on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
It’s obvious that the influx of love and support from near and far is a testament to the true love and light that Buck and Mo shared with everyone they met. All they taught us will never be lost or forgotten. We are all so blessed by you, proud and excited to share in the beautiful now and future that you were so independently creating with such great courage and grace. To the beautiful young man you are and were becoming, you stole my heart from the moment you arrived and I will hold it near to yours forever, my love, my sweet boy.
Buck is survived, loved and cherished by so many: Mother Belinda Ann Granberg (Jerome Ciaramitaro) and brothers Andrew Burbee and Rygel Dalpes of Leadville, and Alan Edward Shacklett; grandfathers Alan Edward Shacklett and Matthew Gonzales; and many aunts, uncles and cousins from near and far; his beloved girlfriend Caydence Slater, life-long friend Nevada Moncivaiz-Likes, and a list of many dear friends that could go on for days. He touched many lives in Leadville, Buena Vista, Salida and beyond.
We’ll forever miss your bright smile and your “I love yous” all day long. He traveled to the other side with his father to greet the many who crossed before and return to their eternal embraces. Travel well, my hero, my warrior of light. I will forever keep you and your dad’s legacy close to my heart and continue to spread your vision. Eternally yours, your beloved Mum, Belinda.
