Janice Jean Denoyer

Janice Jean Denoyer, 72 died July 3, 2022 at her home in Buena Vista, CO., after a very courageous fight with cancer. Her daughter was with her throughout her fight and when she passed into the arms of Jesus. Stacy’s boyfriend, Ryan Reed was a very special friend and helper to his Ma J over the last 3 years and especially during her battle with cancer. Janice was born on October 10th, 1949 in Longmont, CO. to Delbert Harry Sack and Laverne Maxine Myers. The family moved to Salida when she was 2 years old. She grew up in 3 different homes there with most of those years and memories at the family farm northwest of town. Growing up she enjoyed ice skating at Frantz lake and raising and showing lambs for 4H. She graduated from Salida High School in 1967. In high school she started working at Mountain Bell, after a year there she transferred to Denver and lived at the YWCA. She then got a job working for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her high school sweetheart, Norman Denoyer, was going to school at Fort Lewis College in Durango, so she applied and was accepted. When Norman was accepted to Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Janice was also accepted and started taking classes there. On August 29th, 1970 Norman and Janice were married in Salida, CO. at the Methodist Church. After Norman graduated from CSU, he came back to Salida to work in the family business, Denoyer Flower Garden and Janice joined him doing mostly office work at that time. On March 6th, 1975 their daughter Stacy Lea Denoyer was born at the Salida Hospital. Throughout the years Janice loved to sew hats, make jewelry, bookmarks, cards and go camping and hiking. Over the last couple years, she sewed purses for Sew Powerful which gave her a lot of joy to support such a great cause. She also supported BV Hope and helped to educate people about human trafficking. Janice was a devout Christian. She gave her life to the lord when she was 15 and served the Lord in different capacities at First Baptist Church/Grace Church in Salida and Clearview Community Church in Buena Vista. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her Mother-in-law Pauline Golden and Father-in-law Donald Denoyer, nephew Jason Miller and niece Brenna Miller. Janice is survived by her daughter, Stacy and her boyfriend Ryan Reed and his sons Dillon Reed, Jordan Reed and daughter Morgan Reed; sisters, Jackie Carroccia (Don) of Chandler, AZ; Jerri McQuitty (Max) of Colorado Springs, CO.; brothers, Danny Sack of Salida, CO. and Dennis Sack (Chris) of St. George, Utah; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and special cousin Linda Kreibich. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 16th at 11 am at Clearview Community Church in Buena Vista, Colorado.
