James Alan Welter, husband, father, brother, son , Pa and friend to many ; born March 3 1959 passed away unexpectedly April 28 2022 at Colorado Springs Memorial Hospital. James spirit will live on as mountain man, storyteller and dreamer of this community. He was a man of his Lord and is home now with his son Bryan. Most known for his loud cammo blazer and his love and compassion for all and everything outdoors, hunting, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, dirt biking , and was a swan on a set of skis. His life was not a life unlived he traveled the world and seen it all from roadie for 80s rock bands to acoustic guitar strummer in the comfort of his lodge he built with blood, sweat and tears for him and his family in a small mountain town. He was a simple man but a man of wisdom, he was a quiet man but held the most intelligent conversations . James will be greatly missed. His number one passion of course was his family who include wife Kathy Welter, daughters Maegan Scott and Brittney Cudworth and son Christopher Welter.
