James L. Snow

James L. Snow, 79, of Salida died December 17, 2016 at his home in Salida. He was born on January 22, 1937 in Guntersville, Alabama to James Everett and Verna (Hughes) Snow.

Mr. Snow played football for and graduated from Marshall County High School in Guntersville. After graduating high school, he attended Auburn University and then graduated from Texas A&M University at Commerce.

In January of 1965 he met the love of his life, Jeannie Dalaman, in Omaha, Nebraska. They were married in St. Joseph, Missouri on August 7, 1965.

Mr. Snow was a pioneer of the computer software industry until his retirement in 1997. He lived in Salida for 13 years where he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Monarch Mavericks Square Dance Club, the Columbine Gem & Mineral Club, and the Energy Outreach Program of the First Presbyterian Church.


He loved his family, the mountains, and rock hounding.


Mr. Snow was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws George & Dortha Moss.


He is survived by his wife; brothers Dan (Sharon) Snow and Tom (Wilma) Snow; sister-in-law Dianna Hansen; son Randy Snow; daughter Debbie (Paul) Williams; grandchildren Emma and Joshua Williams; aunts Marie McWhirter and Ila Mae Buck; and numerous nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Salida. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church’s Food Pantry or the Love Fund and Heart of the Rockies Home Health and Hospice.
