James Daniel Hayden, 63, of Salida, CO passed away in Colorado Springs, CO on May 28, 2024.
He was born March 30, 1961, to Don and Catherine (Judge) Hayden at the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Hospital, Salida, CO.
He grew up in Salida, graduating from Salida High School in 1979. He was part of the Salida High School Golf Team. He was interested in journalism and worked at the Mountain Mail for a brief period of time. After graduation he went to St. Mary in Kansas on a journalism scholarship. Then he went to The San Diego Golf Academy where he started his career in golfing. He was a member of the PGA for over twenty years. He worked at several Golf courses over the years as the golf pro in Texas, Crestone, CO & at Collegiate Peaks Golf Course in Buena Vista, CO where he retired in 2012.
He made many friends while being involved in golfing and through his lifetime membership of the Elks. In March of 2013 he celebrated one year of sobriety. In 2014 James started having bad health problems and eventually he lost his battle with his health.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father and his nephew Daniel James Hayden and his cat, Aquarius.
He is survived by his sisters, Janette Hayden, Mary Johnson, and many nephews and nieces.
