Jake Borunda

Jake Borunda, son of Mac and Annita Borunda, age 87 died from natural causes in the home he shared with his son in Northglenn, Colorado on July 3rd, 2021.

Jake was born in New Mexico on June 4th, 1934 and later moved to Coaldale, Colorado with his wife Roberta. He loved the town of Coaldale and the surrounding mountains. He was happiest when fishing, hunting, spending time with Roberta, listening to mariachi music and telling “Dad Jokes”.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Roberta Borunda, first wife, Virginia Sandoval, his son Jake Borunda and his brother Gilbert Borunda.

He is survived by his brother Ernesto Borunda, his children, Trina Penunuri (Robert) , Jerry Borunda, and Teri Fitzpatrick (Donald). His stepdaughters, Lora Dowe (Lance) and Tracey Schoen (Andy). His Grandchildren, Andrea Penunuri, Beth Penunuri, Virginia Borunda-McEwen (Mitch). Benjamin Borunda, and Lola Fitzpatrick. His great-grandchildren, Jagger Fernandez, Taylor McEwen, Olivia McEwen, Haley Dowe, Kylie Dowe and Savanah Schoen. 

A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Salida, Colorado on July 9th at 1:00 pm. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.lewisandglenn.com. Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
