Jacquelyn Lee Cacace, aged 71, having said goodbye (for now) to her loved ones, passed peacefully on to heaven on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. Her last few weeks were spent with a beautiful view of the mountains and a caring medical team in Salida, CO. Jacky was born on January 17th, 1952 in Rochester, NY, to Donald and Martha Roy, the second of five siblings. After moving with her family to Colorado, Jacky graduated with distinction from Golden High School in 1970 and went on to earn her degree in Business Information Systems from CU Boulder, where she also met and married Chris, her husband of 51 Years. Jacky will be remembered for her creativity, generous kindness, sneaky sense of humor, and welcoming home, especially the mountain house she designed so carefully. She reveled in the natural beauty everywhere she lived, especially the coast of New England, the wildlife of Kenya, the mountains of Colorado, the lakes of upstate New York, and even the rocky desert of Arizona. Indoors she created just as much beauty to share with others through her quilts and the music that she loved. She played her flute and guitar quietly at home, but also taught many others to play and glorified the Lord through song and music in church. Jacky will be greatly missed. Each of us who has known her has been blessed by her quiet demeanor and giving spirit - a reflection of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who calls her by name. She and Chris were blessed with a daughter, Laurel, and son Benjamin, who were later joined by daughter-in-law Erin and grandchildren Henry, Liberty, and Sabrina. Jacky imparted her wisdom and principles to her children by example, both as a parent and by educating them at home through 8th grade, setting them both on the path to graduate as valedictorians of their respective classes at the local high school. Jacky also enjoyed life shared over the years with her brother Donald (Kristen) Roy and sisters Joy (David) Murchie, Judy (Art) Roy, and Jennine (Paul) Loux, especially since returning to the West. Jacky is preceded in passing by her father Donald and mother Martha. Beyond her roles of mother and wife, throughout her life Jacky quietly cared for elderly neighbors, ministered to imprisoned women, supported her church community, volunteered at a thrift store and food pantry and supported missions work through short term trips to Bonaire, Haiti, and a year in a support role at Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST). A Memorial celebration is planned for Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at the South Park Community Church in Fairplay, CO at 10:00 am. In case of a major blizzard being predicted as of the Wednesday prior, the date will be delayed one week. Online condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com
