Gerald Wayne Thompson

Gerald Wayne Thompson, 71, a Buena Vista resident, passed away September 28, 2022, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 29, 1951, in Cameron, West Virginia, to William and Mae (Pyles) Thompson who precede him in death.

He served honorably to his country as part of the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. He was also an intricate member of VFW Post 1166 in Buena Vista, CO.

He was a truck driver for L.G. Everest for many years.

Jerry is survived by sister, Mary Lynn Tiller of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, brothers William (Buck) Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, James Thompson of Ann Arbor, MI, Steve & Beverly (sister-in-law) Thompson of Buena Vista, CO and twin brother Terry Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.  Sandra and Ashley of Buena Vista, CO whom he thought of as daughters.  Many nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

Jerry will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A memorial will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 @ 1:00 pm at the VFW in Buena Vista, CO.

Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida.
