Esther Johnson Obituary

Esther Enola Wolf Johnson left her earthly dwelling on July 4, 2021 at her home in Coaldale, Colorado with family by her side Esther Enola Wolf was born on May 9, 1930; at home in Crowley County, Colorado to Roscoe and Alma Wolf. Esther was the second child born to this loving family, soon to include six more children. Esther's stories of growing up in such a large family taught us about family struggles, strength and support however: the biggest lesson of all these was love. Esther attended school in Boone, Colorado and after graduation she moved to a small apartment in Pueblo, Colorado and began working as a cook at the Colorado State Hospital. Esther enjoyed the work and this is where she met the love of her life, Kenneth W. Johnson, the milkman. Kenneth would come to the cafeteria after delivering the milk in hopes of meeting Esther. They talked and before long a wedding was on the horizon. The pair were united in marriage on December 1, 1950. Esther and Kenneth were blessed with three daughters; Loretta, Lois and Kathleen. "God gave us three wonderful little girls to love,” she would proclaim. Esther loved God, her husband and daughters with a love that was a true testament to those around her. Esther was an active member of the Cotopaxi Community Church looking forward to Sunday church services and sharing her gardening skills with the congregation by giving flowers from her garden for services. In the winter she would use silk flowers to create her beautiful flower arrangements for church services as well as weddings. She was a prayer warrior for anyone who would ask and those who didn't, no problem too small, no need to be great, Esther would be holding you up in prayer. She was the best pastry cook around and shared her passion for baking with anyone who wanted to learn, especially her daughters and grandchildren. This beloved woman was the proudest "Granny" and showered her grandchildren and great grandchildren with love and support. Esther was proceeded in death by her loving husband; Kenneth, her parents Roscoe and Alma Wolf, siblings Mary Kinney, Ruby Hoyt, Loren Wolf and Ed Wolf. Survivors include her daughters; Loretta (Andy) Pullaro of Beulah, CO, Lois (Larry) Proctor of Delta, CO and Kathleen (Ves) Gulliford of Coaldale, CO, 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren, siblings, Carol (Milton) Hartman of Bryan, Texas, Don (Verna) Wolf of San Antonio Texas, and Vernon Wolf of Pueblo Colorado and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 8, 2021 @ 11:00am at the Cotopaxi Community Church with graveside services at the Coaldale Cemetery, Coaldale CO.
