Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home 203 E Sackett Ave Salida, CO 81201 Obituary Eleanor Joanna Jay 92, of Salida, passed into heaven and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 21, 2022 at Columbine Manor Care Center in Salida, CO. She was born to Carl and Katherine Martin April 11, 1929 in Redwing, Colorado. She and her mother moved to Salida where she attended Salida High School and graduated in 1947. She met Charles at school when he returned from the War. They married on May 1, 1948. They were married for 71 years before Charles passed in 2019. They had four children. Joanna studied music and had such a beautiful voice. She sang at many weddings and loved to sing in the Church choir. She was the Star on top of John Held’s first singing Christmas tree at Salida High School. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was church secretary for many years. She loved going camping, hunting or just going out for a jeep ride to hunt for arrowheads. She holds the title of the biggest buck ever taken in the family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Jay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Alice and her husband Paul Ausbun, her brother Marvin Martin, her brother-in-law Joseph and his wife Alice Jay and her son-in-law Ernie Brasselero. She is survived by her children David (Katherine) Jay of Loveland, CO, Sandra (Butch) Pierce of Lyman, Wyoming, Richard (Ava) Jay of Pueblo, CO and Helen Brasselero of Buena Vista, CO. 10 Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a service for her and Charles will be announced at a later date. On line condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com.
