Donald Leroy Serafin passed away peacefully at his home in Poncha Springs, CO on July 10th, 2024 at the age of 92. He was born on June 20th, 1932 in Topeka KS to Ray & Carita Serafin. He worked his young adult life in the oil fields in Ark City, KS. He met his future wife Sharon and they were married on October 18, 1958. They moved to Gypsum, CO where he worked at PTI telephone company until he retired in 1994. They then moved to Montrose, CO for the warmer winters. They lived in Montrose until 2019 when they moved to Poncha Springs, CO to be closer to their children. Don was an all around fix it guy and could fix and repair just about anything. He spent numerous hours in his shop in Montrose and Poncha Springs with just about any tool you could imagine. He loved to repair things for family, friends and neighbors. He and his wife Sharon spent their retirement summers in Lake City, CO at an RV campground. He had a passion for fishing and never missed a day leaving at 6:00 am for his favorite spot at Continental Reservoir with his brother Bob. They always came home with their limit. He was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sharon, Poncha Springs, children Pamela Bustos (Pat) Poncha Springs, Bart Serafin (Jody) North Carolina and Shanda Senter (Ted) Poncha Springs. He is also survived by his brother Bob Serafin (94) Hot Springs, Arkansas and 2 grandchildren, Kayce Serafin & Morgan Serafin of Colorado Springs, CO. He also is survived by 6 nephews & 1 niece. There will be a private family celebration later this summer at his favorite fishing spot at Continental Reservoir. On line condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com.
