David Paul Marques

David "Davie" Paul Marques, 79, life resident of Salida, CO, passed away in July. He graduated from Salida High School being one of the top students in his class. David was an Army private during the Vietnam War and was stationed in the DMZ. He was proud to serve his country. Upon returning, he went to college at Western State College of Colorado and earned a BA in Business. He worked with his father, Joe Marques in many entrepreneurial ways. Together they did many things for the community and it is hard to list everything they did for Salida. David is survived by his sister, Stella (Bruce) Gould, niece, Paula (Michael) Wood Henschen, nephew Russell Gould, and niece, Melissa (Troy) Campbell. David was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen Marques and sister, Patricia Loretta Wood and brother-in-law, Max Wood. Service will be held at Chisholm Park in Salida, CO on Monday. August 15th at 12:00.
