Calvin Keith Wood

Calvin Keith Wood, was born to Keith and Florence Gladys Wood (Rank) on April 8th, 1934 in Newell, South Dakota. Where he spent his childhood and part of his adulthood. Later meeting his wife, Patricia (Pat) Ommen and married her on March 11th, 1956.

Cal and Pat had three children; Calvin K. Wood Jr., Steven Wood and Debbie Abrams.

After living in South Dakota, New Mexico and other places they settled in Hartsel, Colorado near 11 Mile Reservoir in 1996. There, they built a home where they would raise their grandchildren. Although Cal is a man of many talents and trades, his love for his family and excavation moved him to start Cal’s Trucking & Excavating shortly after moving to Park County. He worked had for his family many years.

Calvin K. Wood passed away on August 9th, 2025 in Park County. He is survived by his wife Pat, sister Kathy, three children, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.   

Although Calvin will be missed by many, his family takes great comfort for remembering the man he was, the life he lived, and the love he left. If you knew Cal- you know family and hard work.
