Bertha Arlene Stewart Burns 08/12/1933 - 08/07/2023
On August 07 2023 an Angel on earth was called Home.
Bertha Arlene Stewart Burns, loving wife and life adventure partner to Ronald L Burns and mother, mentor, and protector to children Ronald L Burns II, Katherine S. Burns, and William E Burns, passed in her words "Over the Rainbow".
As she departed, she left forever memories for many friends and family who loved her dearly including 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Even though she and her 3 children lived in 4 states, she never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. Her calls, cards, handwritten notes, and newspaper clippings kept her children close from far away.
Bertha, a devoted wife and caring mother loved life in its many forms.
She was an adventurous empathetic creative woman who looked beyond the surface and saw beauty in everything and everyone around her.
She also loved the outdoors, whether early in life back in Cypress Gardens, FL at the top of a water ski pyramid, white water rafting with her beloved husband, or much later in the journey admiring her beloved mountains and streams.
And while she did not travel the globe physically, Bertha was keenly interested in global happenings, politics, and medical advances. A worthy conversationalist on the topic of the day.
Her children asked recently before she passed with such a life, what part of life was her favorite? Her reply:
All of It.
And as they gently asked, even now? She replied Oh Yes, All of It, including Today.
Please honor her memory by showing kindness to those who need it most and enjoying Today.
The family will do the same and have a private ceremony.
Arrangements are with the Lewis & Glenn Funeral Home.
