She met and married her soul mate, Virgil R. Walker, on May 29, 1954 and they relocated to Wichita Kansas where Virgil was employed at the time. Their union remained steadfast until Virgil passed away in Salida on July 11, 2010 where they had retired.
Bernice is survived by her only daughter, Carolyn (Benny) Webb of Nathrop, CO; two grandsons, Benny Allyn (Ashley) Webb of Salida, CO and Timothy J. (Jillian) Webb of Pueblo, CO. She leaves three granddaughters, Averi Webb, Austyn Webb and Madisyn Wilcox. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers David and John Hinson both of Palestine, Texas and her husband. She is also survived by many friends, particularly those with whom she played dominoes at Mount Shavano Manor over the years and her surrogate family at Columbine Manor Care Center who tenderly cared for her for nearly 10 years during her residence there.
