Rose M. Cupelli

Rose M. Cupelli, age 95, of Salida, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Columbine Manor Care Center in Salida.  Mrs. Cupelli was born July 26, 1923 in Salida, CO to Gregory and Lena (Scanga) Peluso.

Mrs. Cupelli attended school in Salida graduating in 1941 from Salida High School.  She spent a year in California working in a music store.  She returned to Colorado and went to work at Crews Begg’s in Pueblo.  On June 1, 1946, she married the love of her life Ralph Cupelli.  They shared 66 years until his death in 2013. 

During Rose’s life time, she worked for St. Joseph Catholic Parish as the secretary for 23 years.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, a charter member of the church’s Sewing Club, a member of the HRRMC Auxiliary for many years. Rose was occasionally stubborn and Ralph always said, “There is the right way, the wrong way and Rose’s way and Rose’s way was always the right way!”

Mrs. Cupelli was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Louisa Post.  She is survived by her three children, Karen (Chuck) Donkle of Las Animas, CO, Fred (Lynn) Cupelli of Madison, WI and Marsha Gray of Colorado Springs, CO.  Grandchildren Michelle (Dan) Maestas of Denver, CO, Xandra Lehmann of Madison, WI, Greg (Luanne) Donkle of Denver, CO, Ralph (Sheena) Cupelli of Cross Plains, WI, Aaron (Sarah) Gray of Colorado Springs, CO, Joel Cupelli of Denver, CO, Anne (Monica) Cupelli of Denver, CO and 11 great grandchildren. 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary is set for 10:00 AM Tuesday October 9, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers, friends who desire may make memorial contributions to The American Kidney Foundation, Ark Valley Humane Society or the HRRMC Auxiliary Scholarship Fund through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.  On line condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com.  Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
