Patrick M. Neilly, 78, of Salida, passed away at home in Salida, Colorado on
July 18th after a long recovery from surgery in November.
He is survived by his Daughter, Kathleen M. Neilly of Salida, his son,
Michael R. Neilly, his granddaughter Kyra Neilly and his grandson Alec
Neilly all of Sunnyvale, California. He was preceeded in death by his
wife Mable C. Neilly of Salida in 2004.
He was born on July 21, 1939 in Tuscon Arizona to Thomas Neilly and
Mildred Wilcox. He spent several years in a children's home in Tucson,
Arizona with his brother Thomas Anthony "Tony" Neilly until moving to
Los Angeles with their father. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High
School in Los Angeles in 1957. He served in the Marine Corps from 1957
to 1961, survived being stabbed 3 times while in San Francisco in
1962, ran the Dairy Burger in Bowie, AZ with his mother Mildred and
her husband John Mideke in 1963 and married Mabel C. Butler at the
Maywood Moose in 1965. He worked for the Southern California Gas
Company for ten years before moving to Colorado in 1975 and purchasing
the Indian Trading Post on US Hwy 50 which they ran for over 30 years.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 27, 2018 at the Upper Room
Church at 12th and I streets in Salida. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
