Larry R. Brown

Larry R. Brown, age 79 lifelong resident of Salida, passed away on Thursday July 11, 2019 at his home in Salida surround by his family. Mr. Brown was born March 28, 1940 at the Rio Grande Hospital in Salida to Leo R. and Velma (Eggelston) Brown. Mr. Brown graduated from Salida High School in 1959. He worked for Stotler Motors for several years. He owned and operated the Conoco on F Street for 3 years. He worked at Cozinco in Smelter Town for many years, he was also theWater Deputy for the State of Colorado. He owned and operated L & B Truss Company for many years until his retirement. Mr. Brown was a past member of the Jeep Patrol and was a Volunteer Firemen with the Salida Fire Department for over 10 years. He enjoyed meeting daily with his friends for afternoon coffee. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Vernon and Ellis Brown. He is survived by his daughters Tracie (Tim) Willburn of Buena Vista, CO, Sabrina (Scott) Palko of Salida, CO and Cynthia Smith of Salida, CO. Sons William (Nancy) Smith of Salida, CO and Geoff (Summer) Brown of Buena Vista, CO. Grandchildren Britney Fairchild of Salida, CO, Brandon Fairchild of Amarillo, TX, Shaylyn Willburn of Buena Vista, CO and Carter Brown of Buena Vista, CO. One great grandchild Micaya Willburn of Buena Vista, CO, sister Wilma Harris of Manhattan, KS and many nieces, nephews and cousins Memorial Services are set for 11:00 AM Saturday July 27, 2019 at the Salida Elks Lodge #808.
