Francis Connors Obituary

Francis Emmett Connors, age 91, passed away on Thursday September 6, 2018 in Monte Vista, CO.  Mr. Connors  was born at home in Leadville Colorado on July 19, 1927 to Emmett and Winifred (Thyaer) Connors.

Francis went to school in Leadville at Saint Marys and later went to college in California and later in Leadville where he received an Associates Degree from Colorado Mountain College in Hotel/Resort Management. He is a World War II army veteran. Serving with General Patton in Germany.

He married JoEllen Tucker on July 15, 1951 and together they raised three daughter, Leah 1956, Leslie 1959-2014, Kimberlee 1966.

Francis was a carpenter by trade, and built most of the schools and municipal buildings in Leadville, and numerous buildings in Summit County. He also was a supervisor on the Johnson and Eisenhower Tunnels. From Leadville to Twin Lakes in 1964, where in the 1970's he and his family lived at the Dexter cabin at Interlaken maintaining the buildings, and while his wife was the Post Master in Twin Lakes he was the unofficial Mayor and a supervisor on the Twin Lakes Power Plant. Francis was a member of the Leadville Elks and Mensa. He was an artist and worked in oils and acrylics. He enjoyed the outdoors and shared that knowledge with his daughters

He is proceeded in life by his parents Emmett and Winifred Connors, sister Eileen Rinc, brother Robert ( Bob ) Connors, wife JoEllen, and daughter Leslie Connors-Seter ( Allyn ) . He leaves behind his two daughters Leah Cerise and Kim ( Casey ) Connors, brothers Donald Connors and Emery Connors, sister Patricia ( Pat ) Sipple, two grand children ( Theresa Seter-Reed and Timothy Seter ) and two great grand children.
