Bill Keith Holton, age 81 passed away peacefully on December 4, 2018 in Salida. Mr. Holton was born on March 9, 1937 to Joel Preston Holton and Jolene (Warren) Holton in Vernon, Texas. Bill was raised by his Uncle Willie and Aunt Bertha (Sullivan) Linton of Buena Vista.
The Linton family moved to Buena Vista, Colorado in 1953 from Vernon, Texas. Bill married his wife Patricia Bradbury of Salida in 1956 in Raton, New Mexico. They were married 58 years. They had 4 children and lived in Chaffee County most of their lives.
Bill was a kind, southern gentleman and lived his life by the word of God. He would help anyone who needed help as he believed it was his Christian duty. Mr. Holton was truly gifted at rebuilding campers, bicycles and old lawnmowers. He was meticulous in his work and always tried to make things better than he found them.
His career included Climax, Clifford Pridemore Construction, Rowland Harms and the Buena Vista School District. In California, he was an ironworker and owned his own milk route for Driftwood Dairy.
Mr. Holton is survived by his children, Victoria (George) Bousquet of Salida, and Thomas (Roni) Holton of Colorado Springs along with grandchildren Rita (Greg) Barber, Kristie (Christopher) Lovell, Matthew (Meredith) Shannon, Ashley (Bryan) Coston, William Holton, Eric Holton, Joel Holton, Jared Holton, and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Linda Walker and Debbie (Mike) Sample.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, sons William and Robert, his parents, his Great Uncle and Aunt, step-mother Margaret Holton, half-brothers Joey, Jimmy and Jerry Holton and 2 great grandchildren.
At his request, there will be a private family memorial at Mount Olivet in Buena Vista, Colorado where he will be buried next to his wife and sons.
