It is with great sadness that the family of Ryan Mitchell Swift announces his passing after a car accident on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Born in Salida on August 1, 1978, Ryan grew up surrounded by family and friends. He moved to Denver to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. He became a successful software consultant, living in Atlanta, GA, and traveling the world including London, Berlin, San Francisco, and Rio de Janeiro. Later, Ryan moved home to Salida where he went into business with his father, forming Swift Incorporated, LLC.

Always thoughtful of others, Ryan will be remembered for his cheerful nature, the special meals he cooked for others, his generosity, and his ability to make loved ones smile. Some of his fondest memories were the many Christmases and Easters that he spent with his family while growing up. Ryan enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing with dogs, and watching the Denver Broncos.

Ryan will be lovingly remembered by his father, Kevin (Lucy), mother Mary Kaess, big brother Wade, and little sister Katie (David) Munoz. Ryan will also be fondly remembered by his niece Klarissa and great-niece Violet, longtime companion Nori Geyik, former wife Cynthia Gallegos along with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Ryan was predeceased by his grandparents, Marlyn and Margie Swift, Patricia and Preston Kaess, and uncle Doug Kaess.

A graveside service in memory of Ryan will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Salida. A memorial luncheon will follow at the Elks Lodge, upstairs. Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Ryan to the Ark Valley Humane Society online at https://www.ark-valley.org/donate/ or via mail to PO Box 1335 Buena Vista, CO  81211.  On line condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com.  Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Dear Bereaved Family,
You don't know me , but I wanted to express my sincerest sympathy in the loss of you son and family member. I was driving enroute to Pueblo that day and came across the accident a minute or 2 after it happened. There was a man from a car going westbound that was out of his vehicle. I stopped asked what I could do. His response was to keep driving and call 911. I was able to get 911 about 1/2 mile down the road. I prayed for him and his family all the way home. His passing has had a profound effect on me. Something I will never forget. Please know that you are in my prayers.

To the Swift family,

I am so sorry you all have to sustain the shock and pain of losing Ryan. I remember him as a sweet little boy at Longfellow. May you be granted strength during this time.
