Dale Franklin Quick, 92, died April 21, 2013, at his home in Salida.

He was born May 28, 1920, to Walter and Anna Quick in Niles, Mich.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

After his discharge from the Navy, he purchased a grocery store, which he and his wife operated for several years before he became a partner in a large supermarket. He retired from the supermarket before moving to Salida.

Mr. Quick loved to play golf, fish and hunt and enjoyed gambling. Most of all, he loved his family.

Friends and family say he was loved and respected by all who knew him for his kindness and sense of humor.

Mr. Quick was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Monabelle Jane (Dreitzler) Quick, in 1992; his grandson, John Dale Quick, in 2002; his parents; and two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his son, Fred D. (Bev) Quick of Salida; daughter, Nancy J. Carroch; granddaughter, Jodi (Kevin) Hyatt; sister, Betty Skopec; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held later.

Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home, Salida.
